Cold- or firearms?

Cold- or firearms? Well it's.. not something for one-way answer.

For stealth I need melee weapon but for dealing with a crowd or unconditional instant kill in face to face situation - that's all on gunshot. Especially that hardly expressible feeling of the first time, when you're a civil holding some assault rifle to hold a captive group... The mix of gloat and astonishment at such kind of superiority.
